Aftershock is a relatively small but immensely strong colt. He always seems to be in high spirits and is highly affectionate towards anyone and everyone. Naturally, he tends to get exciteable on the track, and pulls like a train until he's well in the lead. Fortunately, he has more stamina than speed and if he builds up a lead throughout the race, he has enough speed to hold onto it from start to finish. Sarah Star was furious when Marissa and James first came home with Shock and Ultraviolet, but when the chestnut colt turned on the charm and gave her a few affectionate licks and cuddles, she fell in love with him. The nearly seventeen year old apprentice jockey Mimi Kingston however was the one the colt liked best, and it was she who won the right to become his jockey.
