So Rude Awakening had gone beyond everyone's expectations yesterday when she clocked a four furlong breeze to rival Dusk Runner. Trouble was, she had been quite out of control. Sarah hadn't been able to keep a hold on the filly for some reason - apparently Roo, as we had nicknamed the flighty filly, had taken a great dislike to Sarah the moment the top notch jockey had gotten aboard. Sarah was, of course, peed off by this, although she tried to hide it, and ordered that there be rider tryouts for the tricky filly.
I watched, a bit of a grin on my face as I watched Vicky Wilson attempt to sweet talk to filly. Roo wouldn't dp anything she asked - in fact, she was like an old school horse plodding around the ring. I still nursed a grudge against Vicky - earlier in the year, my ex boyfriend Davo had left me for her. It was great to see that her usually amazing chemistry with horses just wasn't there with Roo.
I had an even bigger grin on my face when Roo bucked Davo straight off. Mimi and Jake both got the filly galloping, at least, but she was obviously not minding them in the slightest. Then it was my turn. Everyone of GHS's staff were there, watching in entertainment as each one of the jockeys were rejected by the highly strung filly.
